ABOUT WENDY BOWMAN
Wendy Bowman is at heart, a curator, a treasure hunter with the ability to spot potential and possibility in what others overlook. She then pulls these diverse, discarded objects together to create unique textual pieces. Her sculptures, installations, collage, and mixed media speak to the basic human desire to love, and be loved as we are, often broken - always beautiful. In her debut show, Courage to be Whole, Wendy combines found objects with the female form. These eight sculptures invite observers to get out of their frantic, over thinking heads, and pay more attention to the intelligence of their body and intuition of their soul. Courage to be Whole marks a milestone along her personal journey; leaving a successful career to pursue art as therapeutic and spiritual practice. Wendy uses art in her recovery from extreme mental fatigue, healing a fragmented mind, and re-discover the voice of creativity in her heart and soul.
